Priorities for Redmond
My Priorities for Redmond
My campaign is grounded in the belief that Redmond should be a city where everyone can thrive — socially, economically, and environmentally. These priorities reflect the real needs of our community and the values we share.
🌱 Sustainable Growth & Environmental Responsibility
Redmond deserves policies that protect our natural environment and reduce waste. I will introduce a citywide ban on single-use plastic items, including straws, cutlery, and take-out containers. These items pollute waterways, harm wildlife, and contribute to the microplastics crisis. My plan will transition food service establishments to reusable or certified compostable alternatives, while protecting medical and accessibility needs. I will also expand community composting programs to turn food waste into a resource rather than a burden on landfills.
🚍 Expanded Public Transport
Accessible, reliable transit connects people to jobs, education, healthcare, and one another. I will invest in affordable public transportation to reduce congestion, cut carbon emissions, and create a city that works for residents of every age and income level.
🏠 Affordable Social Housing
Everyone deserves a safe, stable home. I will prioritize the development of affordable social housing so families, young people, and seniors are not priced out of Redmond. Housing must be treated as a basic right, not a luxury.
🤝 Protection & Inclusion for All Residents
Redmond’s strength lies in its diversity. I stand firmly with immigrant communities and 2SLGBTQ+ residents, ensuring their safety, dignity, and access to essential services. Every neighbor deserves to feel welcome, respected, and supported.
👮 Community-Centred Public Safety
Public safety should mean feeling protected — not targeted. I will invest in services that address mental health, shelter insecurity, and addiction, while fostering trust between residents and those who serve them.
